These Terms and Conditions govern the rental of the vehicles offered by Car4Rent. By making a reservation, the customer confirms that they have read, understood, and accept the conditions set out below.
1. Definitions
Lessor — Car4Rent, the provider of the car rental service. Lessee / Customer — the person who reserves and rents the vehicle. Rental Period — the interval between the date and time of pickup and the date and time of return.
2. Eligibility
- Minimum age: 21 years (certain vehicle classes may require 25+).
- A valid driver’s license, held for at least 1 year.
- A valid identity document (ID card or passport).
- Car4Rent reserves the right to decline a reservation.
3. Reservation and Confirmation
A reservation made online is a preliminary request. It becomes firm only after confirmation by a Car4Rent manager (usually within less than an hour), who verifies the availability of the vehicle for the requested period. You will receive confirmation by email and/or phone.
4. Pricing and Calculation
- Each vehicle has a daily rate that decreases according to the length of the rental (1–3, 4–7, 8–14, 15–21, and 21+ days).
- The number of days is calculated based on the pickup time and the return time. If the vehicle is returned more than 6 hours later than the pickup time, an additional day is charged. Returning the vehicle early does not reduce the number of days paid for.
- Prices are displayed in EUR and may be viewed in MDL or USD at the exchange rate of the National Bank of Moldova.
- CASCO + MTPL insurance is included in the rate.
5. Deposit (Security Deposit)
For certain vehicles, a security deposit is required, which is communicated at the time of reservation. The deposit is fully refundable upon return of the vehicle in the condition in which it was picked up. The deposit may be withheld, in whole or in part, to cover damage, fines, missing fuel, or other costs attributable to the customer.
6. Fuel
The vehicle is provided with a certain fuel level and must be returned with the same level. The difference is deducted from the deposit.
7. Pickup and Return
- Delivery to Chișinău Airport is free of charge. Other locations are arranged at the time of reservation.
- The customer specifies the date and time of pickup and return. Late returns are charged in accordance with Section 4.
- The vehicle must be returned clean and undamaged, with all documents and accessories received.
8. Customer Obligations
- To use the vehicle in accordance with its intended purpose and traffic legislation.
- Not to sublet the vehicle or allow it to be driven by unauthorized persons.
- Not to use the vehicle in competitions, off-road, or while intoxicated.
- To notify Car4Rent and the authorities immediately in the event of an accident, theft, or damage.
9. Liability
The customer is responsible for traffic fines, fees, and damage incurred during the rental period. In the event of an accident caused by the customer’s fault, the deductible provided for in the insurance policy applies.
10. Cancellation
A reservation may be canceled free of charge before confirmation. The cancellation terms applicable after confirmation are communicated by the manager.
11. Personal Data
The data you provide is processed solely for the purpose of managing your reservation, in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
12. Governing Law
These conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Moldova. Any disputes shall be settled amicably or by the competent courts in Chișinău.
